Roulette HistoryRoulette History'Roulette', means 'small wheel' in French and the first Roulette-like wheel was invented in France in the 18th century. The earliest mentioning of the Roulette game as we know it today is found in a French novel 'La Roulette, ou le Jour,' by Jaques Lablee. In 1842, two fellow Frenchmen added the ‘0’ to the Roulette wheel in order to give the house an advantage. In the early 1800's, the game of Roulette came to the United States. There, a second zero, '00,' was introduced to further increase the house’s advantage over players’. The game has become one of the most popular forms of entertainment both across Europe and in the U.S. Today, the game enjoys an immense following. RepliesPost a Reply |
